The weather and my free time finally aligned, and I had a good morning to go for a trash walk. It has been about a month, but as I have mentioned before, I can’t consistently do these walks due to varying factors. In any case, I did about a 2-mile loop and picked up maybe 30-40lbs of trash. Coincidentally, I was also picking up trash the same day as a local volunteer group. They got really cool shirts, and all I got was pretty sweaty. Next year I will join them and get the cool shirt.
I also had an encounter with a random man that made me pause for a moment. He pulled up next to me and rolled his window down. He said, “My wife and I do the same thing where we live. It never really ends, does it?” I just looked at him and repeated it back, “It never really ends.” He drove off.

Thought this looked like it was important, at least at one point.

This mother goose is nesting on a little island that sits in the middle of an M shaped bridge. The Chicago River runs on either side of her. She makes this nest here yearly, and if this is the same goose, then this will be at least her 3rd year here. Very exciting for her!

I got lucky and found the bag on the left on my walk, so I got to save one of my own bags!
